Dot Peen Marking Machines

Dot peen marking machines indent a permanent mark into metal with a stylus — serials, logos, 2D codes and nameplates, including on rough or coated parts. Two formats: benchtop for parts that come to a station, handheld for parts that stay on the floor.

Who this family is for

Use dot peen when the ID must survive paint, handling or abuse — automotive, aerospace, fabrication, tools, pipes and plant. Running cost is a stylus, not a laser tube.

It is the wrong first choice for fine jewellery faces, for high-contrast logos on clean metal with no indent, and for plastics and PCBs. See gold fiber , fiber and UV .

How it works

A pneumatic or electromagnetic stylus strikes a dot matrix. Depth is typically 0.1–1 mm, material dependent. Controllers are standalone or PC-linked (USB / serial). The stylus is a wear item.

FAQs

Laser or dot peen?
Laser for contrast and fine codes without impact. Dot peen for a deep indented ID. Some plants use both.
VIN?
The job is VIN and chassis marking. The usual machine is handheld.
Two names — Standard and Benchtop?
One machine. On-page name is Benchtop. The URL slug stays standard-dot-peen-marking-machine.

Tell us whether the part comes to a bench or you take the marker to the part, and how deep the ID must be.
